Information Distribution Server™
The HIP was built using the Information Distribution
Server (IDS), a Java application framework developed by
youDevise for agile development of financial market
applications.
The IDS has pre-built features that accelerate application
development, including MVC architecture similar to
Spring™ and Apache Struts™ web application
frameworks; analysis and retrieval features like those found
in reporting tools such as Business Objects™ and
Cognos™; and features tailored to the requirements of
financial market applications, such as integration with
market data providers.
IDS Features:
- Grouping –
Aggregation of related data and drill downs to individual
data items.
- Templating
– Distribution of data views to some or all users.
- User communication
– Customisable help systems and system news
broadcasts.
- Agents –
Robust background agent processes (for example, caching)
with automatic failure recovery and alerting.
- Reporting
– Flexible reporting on system performance and
system usage.
- Permissioning
– Allocation of data workflow between designated
users.
- Market data
– Mechanisms to integrate with a variety of market
data vendors. Tools for monitoring market data integrity
and managing corporate actions.
- Alerting –
Alerts displayed internally in an application or
externally via customisable emails.
- Attachments
– Easy incorporation of data files in any format,
such as Word, Excel, or PDF.
The IDS is written in Java using open-source tools and
industry standards. It is compatible with industry-standard
Windows and Linux infrastructure software. It is scalable,
reliable, and flexible in production.
